Five Star Review of Book, TRAINING YOUR LOVE INTUITION

I always thought that if I only followed my intuition that I would choose someone who was good for me. Now I know why that did not work for me in the past. It never occurred to me that my intuition could be wrong. The things I liked about this book is, first of all, the tips and exercises are based on the author’s extensive research. I also like that reading the book is as close as you can get to having a portable therapist with you.

The exercises and quizzes and explanations are very effective. The author helps you connect your dating history, partner choices and other issues with what you absorbed from your parents and family growing up about key things, such as dealing with anger, trust, and the who is in charge, how to deal with differences and needs, and more.

I learned that I felt more comfortable either re-creating my parent’s relationship or choosing someone who was just the opposite. Those ways did not work. I learned why it is difficult to depart from my parents’ style and values so I could make my own.

The three main sections include Foundations, which explains intuition and the brain, and why trusting and training your intuition is important. The charts are easy to use, and they show visually what mistakes you are making. I especially liked the section, Reading People. The quizzes really drew out what I missed seeing in others. The last section, Dating, helps you apply you new wisdom. Don’t be fooled by the short length of the book. This book is like lightning up your awareness and ability to make health choices.
